Introduction

This blog contains an ACOL summary written by Wayne Burrows in the style of Mark London's SAYC notes. The SAYC blog can be found here: SAYC The standard system is shown with this green background.
Variations and alternative agreements are shown with a red/pink background.
The standard system presented here is what similar to what is commonly played by tournament players in New Zealand (although there are many variations e.g. 5-card majors or 5-card spade are common). It is based on 4-card majors and a weak 1NT opening. The two-level openings are a strong 2♣, a multi-2♦ and weak two-suiters in the majors. Many variations will be shown so that this blog could be used as a reference for both tournament and club players and especially by those that wish to improve their system by adding more advanced agreements.
